Online shopping is often the most convenient way to buy products. This system saves time, and items can be ordered from any online service at any time of day or night. Deliveries are usually made during the day or early evening. You don't need to be home when the packages arrive. Apartment package lockers will keep your package until you return home to collect your delivery. 

You are notified online and through a smartphone app when your package has been delivered to a locker. You are given instructions and a numerical code or a QR code for the locker box containing your delivery. Scan the code according to the instructions. It includes the box number that will open automatically. (You may have the fun of guessing which box will open.) 

This system provides a digital record of the date and time of the delivery. Another digital record indicates acceptance when the recipient uses the code to collect the package. This may eliminate the need for a signature to show acceptance of a parcel. 

Only residents who have signed up for this service are permitted to use the lockers. The lockers can be accessed by more than one family member with the codes delivered to their mobile devices through the app. 

You can pick up your packages at any time of day or night. You do not have to wait for your manager's availability to retrieve your deliveries. You do not have to wait for a package to be delivered to your doorstep. 

All Sizes Available 

Package lockers come in different sizes. A small package will fit comfortably into a small locker compartment. The person making the delivery will have a code to place the package into a locker that is the correct size. Packages are not squeezed or stuffed into lockers. This is important if fragile items are delivered. Boxes and other packages are easily removed. 

You may have more than one package in the locker, or you may have packages in several lockers. One or more packages may be delivered from a single carrier to a single locker, based on the order and package sizes. 

Lockers are available to accept large boxes as well as average-sized packages. Grocery items will still be delivered to your door, not the lockers. 

Amazon Hub Apartment Lockers 

The largest online retailer offers apartment communities a hub of lockers in all sizes. Amazon has its own delivery service, which uses the lockers. The Amazon Hub Apartment Lockers are used exclusively by apartment residents who sign up for the service. The locker system was developed by the company to help residents and apartment management companies make packages easy to retrieve at any time. Amazon maintains its lockers. 

Packages can be held in the locker for up to three days. Residents who expect deliveries while they are out of town can make arrangements with their apartment manager and permit them to pick up the package. 

The United States Postal Service does not use the apartment package lockers. USPS also uses apartment smart package lockers if a delivery does not fit into the standard mailbox. These boxes are located in local post offices and are always available. They are not as convenient as apartment package lockers. You may decide to use a delivery service other than the USPS when ordering online, based on the shipping costs. 

Join the Program 

Apartment communities, including Sedona Ridge, offer package locker service to residents. You can sign up for the service when you move into your apartment. Be sure to cancel the service if you had it at another location. You should also change your address with your favorite online retailers when you move to ensure all your packages are delivered to your new address.
